Spell checker

Paste up to 5,000 characters. Words that are not in the dictionary are underlined; the 5,499 misspellings people search most show the right spelling at once.

How it checks

Each word is looked up among the English words on PlainSpell, their forms and the words of the wordfreq list (which also knows names). A word that is a measured misspelling shows its right spelling and how often the wrong one is searched. Any other unknown word shows the known words one letter away, the most common first.

It checks spelling only, not grammar, and it cannot tell a real word used wrongly (their for there): for those, see the word pairs.
