Where does Isoko come from?
Borrowed from Edo isoko (“outskirts, environs”), referring to the fact that some of the predecessors of the Isoko migrated from the Kingdom of Benin to modern-day Isokoland, and thus the name represented those who lived on the outskirts of the Benin Empire.
