- 1(Amomyrtus luma) Árbol de la familia de las mirtáceas que habita en Chile y Argentina. El tronco es delgado y recto y su madera es muy dura y difícil de trabajar. Su fruto es una baya comestible (cauchagüe o cauchao) de color negro o morado que se usa para fabricar chicha.
- 2Herramienta de labranza de Chiloé, ya desusada, que cumplía la función de un arado. Estaba formada por un palo largo de luma₁ con la punta aguzada o herrada que se sostenía son ambas manos y se afirmaba en el pecho. Hecho esto se empujaba con todo el cuerpo para enterrarlo, al hacer palanca con un palo más pequeño que iba sobre el suelo, se podían levantar los tepes y dejar un agujero listo para plantar una papa.
