## Etymology
Coined by George Lucas during the production of the 1980 science fiction film The Empire Strikes Back to describe a group of warriors from the planet Mandalore, including one of the film's most famous characters, Boba Fett. However, the term was first published in the film's novelization, by Donald F. Glut.
